Thinking of Becoming a Teacher? - EVENTS
Train To Teach - School Experience Days
School experience allows you to find out more about teaching by visiting schools.
Observe lessons in a particular subject and across year groups, speak to experienced teachers to gain a long-term view of teaching and Early Career Teachers to gain an understanding of beginning your teaching journey and what to expect. Unity Teaching School Hub will also be pleased to support you make the decisions on routes into teaching and any other questions you might have regarding getting into teaching.
"Getting classroom experience can help you decide whether teaching is right for you, and support your training application. You may have heard that it’s a requirement to get a minimum of 10 days school experience to get onto a training course.
We can bust that myth; You don’t! School experience isn’t a mandatory requirement to apply for teacher training; however, spending time in schools shadowing teachers will help you to decide whether teaching is right for you as you observe what working with students is really like." - DfE
For school experience days, you'll need:
- the right to work in the UK
- a degree (or to be studying for one)
- to be aged 18 or over
We haven't got dates yet for this year, however please register your interest and we can contact you when we do. Last term, we had a number of dates available at a number of secondary schools within Unity Schools Partnership and Unity Teaching School Hub:
