Subject Forums: Collaborative Teaching School Hub

Please note: The Alpha Hub is organising the sign-up process on our behalf. If you have any questions about the subject forums, please don’t hesitate to contact Alpha TS Hub at office@alphatsh.org

Developing strong subject expertise in teachers is one of the key factors in ensuring pupils’ success. We have joined with our neighbouring Teaching School Hubs across the Eastern region (Alpha, Chafford Hundred, Saffron and Unity) to launch a pilot programme of subject forums to both primary and secondary colleagues at all stages of their career.

We hope that the subject forums will provide a launchpad for our new teachers to further develop their practice as well as connecting them to a wider community of educators.

The intention is that they are a complementary offer to subject networks that MATs,  LAs or Clusters may be involved in.

The forums will run two 45-minute sessions for each subject (listed below).   All the remote sessions are designed to provide teachers with subject specific insights into evidence informed practice as a starting point to further reflection, professional learning and development of greater expertise.

These forums will run within the following dates below for next year, so that you may build this into the CPD calendar for your school.

7th-14th November 2022

6th-13th March 2023

19-25th June 2023

All the forums are led by subject experts drawn from local curriculum hubs, subject association networks; ITT providers and practitioner expertise from across our region.  The National Association of School-Based Teacher Trainers (NASBTT) and the curriculum hubs are working together with us to ensure the subject forums complement their work. East region curriculum hub offers will be signposted from the subject forum programme documents.
